Patterns is a popular place in a busy area. The front and side counter are full of tasty treats that beckon you in.

We passed by one evening and couldn't resist the selection of macarons there. Although it wasn't the largest range there were some interesting choices.

After taking a somewhat fuzzy photo of a creme brulee macaron - not shown here but which tasted nice - we then moved on to the after-dinner-mint macaron. This was a dissapointment - it was heavy and stolid and lacked the lightness expected in a good macaron.

I know this is a popular place and perhaps some of the other delicacies there are better - but its not as good as we expected.
