MAMAK - CHATSWOOD, SYDNEY

While the Haymarket Mamak is so busy with a queue outside most nights this one is a bit quieter. It does get full early though - it is a Mamak! We started with the roti canai - why not. Their roti is good - some say the best in Sydney but we can debate that later -and it comes with two dipping curries and a dab of sambal. It was a solid start. This was $6.50.

We then moved on to the tried and proved satay skewers. These can be ordered in either beef or chicken and come in a six pack for $9.00 or a dozen for $16.00. They are small but tasty and the peanut sauce was very tasty - in fact we finished the entire bowl (which was substantial in itself).

We decided on a single main course of  mee goreng which consisted of hokkien noodles wok tossed with egg, prawns, fish cake slices and fresh bean sprouts. It was a decent sized serving and was tasty.

Mamak is nice. The service was a bit slow - we had to remind them to bring out water - and the food was solid. Its good but not awesome.
