LUPINO - MELBOURNE CBD

Lupino

There doesn't seem to be a huge glut of top Italian restaurants in Melbourne CBD - eveythings gone tapas lately. So craving Italian lead the Princess and I to Lupino as it had a good reputation for good Italian food.

Its a pleasant place with nice decor and good service. We were promptly seated and menus were brought to us. Our orders were taken and some sourdough bread and olive oil arrived shortly afterwards with our drinks order - a lovely bottle of Italian red.

Sadly I only took one photo - so it was only my dish that was snapped. The gnocchi gorgonzola was appealing on the menu - a rich sauce on soft gnocchi dumplings sounded great - and it was. It certainly lived up to expectations. I have to say it was delicious - and a decent sized serving as well.

Lupino is a nice place for a quality Italian meal. The food was excellent, the decor very nice and the service prompt, friendly and efficient. The one strange thing was that bread is automatically delivered to the table but there are no bread plates provided. A small thing but noticeable. I'd certainly go back there again though - its a very good place to go.
