Eden Cafe
781-785 Elizabeth St
Zetland, Sydney
Eden is a cool industrial type cafe in Sydney's recently trendy inner suburb a Zetland. Once an area full of factories and warehouses, Zetland is now a sprawling residential area and heaps of cafes are replacing the old abandoned warehouses, one of which has become Eden Cafe.
The counts arrived early on a balmy Sunday morning.
Eden has a lovely northerly aspect so it gets the morning sun which was just beautiful early on this nicely crisp Winter day. Eden is a not only a cafe, it is also a small batch specialty roaster.
They have two blends, Adam and Eve as they cater for his and her coffee. We haven't seen that before.
The counts started with a long black and a macchiato, their usual! Both coffees arrived quickly and were smooth and creamy. Quite impressive actually.
Eden has a very comprehensive breakfast menu with lots of options, from your basic eggs on toast, to marvellous omelettes and beautiful baked items, like fruit breads and also muesli.
The food, also served quite promptly, was fresh and hearty. Count J's poached eggs on toast, a humble classic but cooked well. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the rye toast was slightly sour and rustic. It's was so nice, we ordered extra slices.
Eden cafe is opened 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even just to pick up a bag of their specialty coffee, the counts enjoyed the food and definitely will be back!

Count N chose the smoked salmon omelette which was full of chunky pieces of salmon. It's a good choice if you're quite hungry, as the serving is huge.
