Some days you wake up late and you know the next step, in fact the only next step, is to head off to brunch. With this in mind Sir and M'Lady journeyed to Hornsby to and old faithful of ours - Blu Water Grill.
We wanted a quick brunch rather than the usual leisurley type. Service at Blu is normally prompt and today was no exception. We both ordered coffee initially then we were left to decide on our food. M'Lady ordered scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast and Sir, trying desperately not to become Sir-cumference, ordered fruit toast. M'Lady's meal was a hearty serve. The scambled eggs were soft and juicy but still cooked.

Two thick cut slices of wholemeal toast sat on the side of her plate along with a grilled half tomato and some greenery as a garnish. It looked good but not in an art deco way.

Sirs fruit toast was also thick cut and came with two already buttered and cut slices which were fortunately still warm (because we all know there's nothing worse than getting cold toast!).

Blu Water Grill is deceptively large. The indoor section is smallish but the large covered outdoor area that wraps around its corner position makes it a big place. We ate outside. As it was a bit windy and overcast, they had the plastic sides up as well, and as a result the noise echoed quite a bit and the background music was impossible to decipher.

However, this didn't seem to bother most people there - who cares on a relaxing Sunday morning anyway! And with the great view of the nearby Water Clock in Hornsby Square a bit of noise is a small price to pay.

Speaking of prices, our coffees were $3.20 each (would have been $3.80 for mugs), M'Lady's scramled eggs were $9.00 and Sirs fuit toast was $4.00. The most expensive breakfast item is the Big Breakfast with the works for $16.50.

Blu Water Grill is a great place for a Sunday brunch taking in the sights and sounds of the busy mall around you while you sip a decent coffe and have a hearty breakfast. Its open for lunch and dinner too as well as just for a coffee and cake. Well worth a Sunday brunch though!
