Sir and M’Lady were tossing a coin one Sunday afternoon about whether to bother going in to town or not and heads came up – go to town. We decided to try the new place under the IMAX at Darling Harbour – Eat Love Pizza – and use another one of our famous vouchers.
Sundays are quieter and we were lucky to be seated very close to the front with a magnificent view across the water and right down the bay. This area is a favourite of both Sir and M’Lady so it was a good start.
We ordered a bottle of red and selected two pizza’s to share. M’Lady chose both. The chilli beef pizza would be better described as Mexican – it had ground beef and each slice had a dollop of guacamole with a corn chip protruding. The tandoori chicken had thin chicken slices and came with minted yoghurt. The pizza sizes were generous and they were tasty.
During the meal we took in a million dollar view of the harbour. We also had free entertainment from a nearby busker trying hard to set himself on fire but miraculously failing each time.
The final step for the night was to choose our desserts. M’Lady chose a hearty rhubarb and apple pie and Sir had a dessert tasting plate which came with five small portions. Both were fantastic.
The two pizzas were about $25 each, desserts were around $14 each and the wine was about $38 - but our voucher gave us the lot for $49. We do love a bargain and this was a good one! Considering the location and views (and as the area is one of our favourites) it’s worth going and good value at normal prices. This was previously a fish and chips takeaway outlet and seafood restaurant but the current focus seems much better. It’s a deep restaurant and the best tables are close to the front so it may be sensible to get in early or go on a quiet night.
