LA BELLE MIETTE - MELBOURNE CBD

The window draws you in but the macarons bring you back! They are so nice! These are possibly the best macarons in Australia. Its a big call but until you've tried them you just wont know.

The window here is exquisite - well set out and very inviting.

Inside its fairly simple. There's a great range of macarons and you simply have to look and choose - but its not that easy because they all look great.

We weren't looking for food - we were actually chasing a coffee. Once we saw the amazing artistry of the window we just had to go in - and then the range of choices blew us away. So many options and all so good.

Most macarons are $2.50 - but a few are a bit more - like the 72% Cocoa Single Origin Chocolate which is $2.80 and the Moet et Chandon and Blackcurrant costs a bit extra too.

 .

We ended up grabbing (clockwise from top left) Mariage Freres Earl Grey Chocolate; 72% Cocoa Single Origin Chocolate (Venezuela); Mango & Coconut; Red Currant, Cinnamon & Rum. They were all delicious with subtle flavours and the shells are oh so light and fluffy with a delicate crisp exterior. Favourites were the earl grey and the mango and coconut.

We'll be back for sure and at $2.50 each it's about normal for good macarons - but these aren't good, they're great!
