Reuben Hills
61 Albion St
Surry Hills
Reuben Hills is a quirky place. It doesn't have huge signs out the front and it doesn't scream at you yet there are always plenty of people heading inside this long lean cafe to sample their food and sip a coffee. So I ventured in (after initially walking past it on the other side of the road) and managed to grab the last available seat - in the front window.
My coffee and meal came to $16.00 - which was a bit more expensive than some places but reasonable considering how nice it was.
I enjoyed Reuben Hills - but the crowd there shows I'm not the only fan of this place.

The service here is excellent. I was welcomed and seated promptly. Others after me had to wait but bottled tap water and glasses were brought to them - even to the people waiting outside! I ordered the sourdough with avocado, coriander and lime. I love avocado but this was such a simple and elegant combination. It tasted great. The avocado was ripe and soft, the coriander fresh and the lime charred and warm. I loved every mouthful.
