Terrey Hills Tavern
2 Aumuna Rd
Terrey Hills
This place has an amazing Balinese feel to the outdoor area at night. It's impressive. The indoor area is a bit drab and dated though but it looks like its going to get a fix up. On a Saturday night it is also packed here. I chose the 400gm rump steak ($21.00) with an extra of prawns with bearnaise sauce ($3.50). It was well cooked and tasted very good.
Mlady chose the Vienna schnitzel which came with two large pieces of veal schnitzel with sides of chips and salad (although you can also have mash and veggies if you want). The serving was huge and the quality was again very good. This mega meal cost a mere $18.00 - very good value.
Other goodies ordered in our group were the scallops - served with a lovely topping of grilled melted cheese. As I stole one I can confirm that they were very tasty.
Finally two separate dishes. One was a tasting plate (shown on the left) comprising quite a few different nibbly bits including tuna sashimi. It was an interesting combination that looked great.
Then there was the lamb wellington. Our resident expert in this department said it was very good - and the presentation matched this too.
Terrey Hills Tavern is a popular place. You have to queue to order and sometimes this can take a while. The food is good though with large servings at reasonable prices and it arrives pretty quickly. Its a good option for a decent meal.
