AL FRESCO - BRIGHTON, ENGLAND

Al Fresco
Milkmaid Pavilion, Kings Road Arches
Brighton, UK

We were strolling down the promenade towards the old pier at Brighton and worked up a bit of a thirst for a coffee. We spied Al Fresco and at first thought it was simply a restaurant.

On closer inspection we found that underneath it at the back (looking out over the water) was a cafe as well. The upstairs serves as the more formal restaurant.
It was such a pleasant spot sitting outside in the sun watching the world go by. There is plenty of indoor seating as well if the weather isn't great.

We just watched and relaxed - its a great view from here looking out over Brighton Beach and towards to old pier. Very pretty and sad all in one. You can imagine what it would be like if the pier had been rebuilt where it was - rather than just up the road.

Anyway, the coffee was pleasant and the view was spectacular.
