Moo Gourmet Burgers (The Hunt For .... Sydney's Best Beef Burger)
69 Willoughby Rd
Crows Nest, Sydney
Our hunt over the next two or three months for Sydney's best beef burger took us to Moo Gourmet Burgers at Crows Nest. Moo are one of the pioneers of gourmet burgers in Sydney, having been around since 2009 and growing to their current five stores.
The place has a quirky uniqueness with rustic distressed furniture purpose built, with tables from recycled fence palings from Byron Bay. Everything is Moo themed - right down to the straws!
Moo pride themselves on delivering quality burgers. All the beef is free range and grass fed - but there's more than just beef burgers here. Chicken, vegetarian, salmon, lamb, kangaroo and even duck burgers are available!
The beef was certainly very tasty and full of flavour. The bacon and avocado was just as I'd hoped and the mayo and relish combined deliciously. This was a really good burger!
Mlady had the wagyu beef burger. It was 100% Northern Tablelands wagyu beef, Tasmanian brie, caramelised onions, tomato, mixed leaf lettuce and home made mayonnaise. Mlady loved this burger and said it had lovely combinations. The beef was again juicy and tender, the brie went beautifully with it and the whole combination was packed with flavour. The slightly warmed sourdough bun was not overpowering. Again this got the two thumbs up!
Of course you can't just have a burger on its own.
We grabbed a basket of chunky home-style chips that arrived hot, crisp and nicely presented in a paper cone. They came with a variety of sauces - sweet chilli, peri peri and aioli - all made in house and all went perfectly with the chips. We just kept on dipping.
These were good chips.
I added a Mad Cow - a rich drink made from Oreo biscuits, chocolate and vanilla syrup. Yummo - it was quite rich and oh so tasty - I finished every drop of it!
Mlady had a Nexba sparkling cherry lime and green tea that she said was very refreshing and went well with her burger.
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Moo Gourmet Burgers. Special thanks to Moo Gourmet Burgers founder and owner Adam Gerondis for arranging our visit. Thanks also Lexy for looking after us on our visit.

I chose the beef, avocado and bacon burger. It was described in the menu as 100% Australian Angus pure natural beef, avocado puree, free range bacon, tomato, mixed leaf lettuce, home made mayonnaise and tomato relish.
