SOURDOUGH BAKERY - HORNSBY, SYDNEY

Hornsby, Sydney

We'd visited the Sourdough Bakery at World Square quite a few times so when we saw another one pop up at Westfield Hornsby it seemed like a good idea to give it a go.

It's an interesting place with an industrial theme prevailing - think exposed ducts and pipes in the roof and no actual ceiling. They use a lot of iron as well to stick with this concept.

It's also a big place - as it stretches around the corner with most of the seating being outside but still under cover.

We of course started with coffees - it was mid morning on a Sunday after all and this was the first food or drink to pass our lips for the day! The coffee was good - as it is at World Square - and we were off to a nice start.

Sir was on a bit of a health kick - his "annual lead in to Christmas burst of effort" before the storm of overeating hits - and so he had a very colourful bowl of honey drizzled house toasted muesli.

It was full of crunch from the ample supply of nuts in it.

It was also topped off with some freshly sliced Kiwi fruit and a fresh strawberry. The dish looked appealing and tasted great.

Mlady had her usual - well her frequently chosen weekend brunch - of scrambled eggs on toast. It was another big serving with nicely cooked eggs that still had plenty of moisture. Our third eater, The Duke, had a simple serving of sourdough and jam. He didn't expect to get this big a serving - they don't skimp here.

Sourdough Bakery has plenty of menu choices, a huge number in fact. Their breakfast pizza's looked good as well as did their lunch menu - so maybe next time!
