Java Lava has steadily expanded its hold on Sydney. They now have grown to five cafes with a model of good coffee, tasty and appealing cakes and food that stretches from breakfast right through the day and even to dinner.
We were in Hornsby looking for somewhere to stop and rest and as it was a nice day their al fresco area grabbed our attention.
Mlady started with a cold ginger beer after a big shopping spree. Sir went for their pina colada fruity frappe - from the non-dairy range of drinks. Both hit the spot while we studied the menu.
We were peckish wanted something a bit substantial but not a full meal. The perennial challenge mid afternoon for shoppers!
We considered cakes but were undecided. Was sweet the answer - when isn't it!
Then saw the olive and mozzarella pizza on the entree menu and thought it wouldn't be too big - but we were wrong.
It turned out to be a substantial pizza with a good covering of black olive tapenade and mozzarella.
This great sized serving left us full and satisfied. It was a nice and tasty snack and perfect for sharing.
We left satisfied.
