OSSO STEAK AND RIBS RESTAURANT, PENRITH PANTHERS SYDNEY

Osso Steak and Ribs Restaurant
(inside Panthers World of Entertainment)
123 Mulgoa Rd
Penrith, Sydney

Osso is located in the sprawling Penrith Panthers World of Entertainment and has been here for 7 years. Osso is a stylish restaurant with gorgeous dark wood décor. There is a comfortable area to wait just outside until you are seated.

They seat 180 and there are separate areas where they serve private functions. The food is very high quality and served in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. They are produce driven and it's quality produce.

Sir started his meal with a red from McLaren Vale S.A. - Chalk Hill Luna and Mlady had a glass of Merlot - Coonawarra also from S.A. Mlady'swas on the "Osso Selection".

We love antipasto. It sat "high" on a pizza stand and looked so appetising. Artistically presented it was made up of cured meats, olives, zucchini flowers, ciabatta and mixed marinated vegetables. The crunchy fried olives were incredibly yummy, as were the marinated veggies that had "bite". Mlady  said that this was one the best antipasto's she has had.

We also had a serving of olive bread. How fluffy and soft was this! Even the crust was soft. Some breads can be a bit hard but this was certainly not the case.

Sir chose for his main - 300gm Scotch fillet (marble score 2) - grain fed, Riverine Cargill from Wagga Wagga. Sir had this medium rare. The sauce he chose was Diane sauce - and he thoroughly savoured this. It was a beautifully cooked and nice cut of Scotch fillet. The knife just glided through it and it had great flavour too.

We had a couple of sides - fat chips with aioli and also a serving of Caesar salad. Oh my - these chips were good. Crisp and fluffy and oh so yummy anddipping in the aioli - divine. The Caesar salad was fresh, vibrant, substantial and had a great flavoured dressing.

Mlady chose the pan-fried Barramundi - Fregola, confit chicken, chicken crackle, Swiss brown mushrooms, red wine sauce. It had lovely crispy skin - which Mlady loves. This was beautifully presented on a black slate plate. The fish was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. It simply just melted in your mouth. Such a beautiful dish!

Sir had another wine this time he had a Shiraz Cabernet.

Mlady had some room left and decided on an Affogato. This was a Ferrero Liqueur Affogato, Double shot Espresso, homemade Ferrero ice cream and Frangelico. The aroma was amazing. This was so good. This totally completed her mouth-watering meal perfectly.

Sir chose the lemon cheesecake and this came with blueberries and berry reduction. Seriously - one of the best cheesecakes! It was elegantly presented on a black slate plate enhancing the delicately arranged cheesecake. This was heavenly with a lovely lemon flavour. It was not tart, not bitter - it was - to coin a phrase "Just Right"! Sir completed his delicious meal with a dessert wine - De Bortoli Noble One 2010 - such a nice drop.

The food at Osso is really so flavoursome and the servings are extremely generous. Osso is definitely a quality restaurant that is well worth paying a visit.
