Firestone
Level2, Shop 3100 Westfield Hornsby

Hornsby, Sydney
The Firestone “brand” originally kicked off in The Rocks in Sydney. It quickly took off and has now expanded to Hornsby in a lovely spot on the mall. It’s a striking place with bold colours and bold food to match.
The Pene Boscaiola - or stuffed bread pasta - sounded amazing. Pasta with mushrooms, pancetta, fresh herbs, Grana Padan and creamy white sauce all served hot in a fresh bread roll. Yes please! It was a spectacular dish to look at and extremely tasty to eat too. The big serving took a while to get through but it all tasted so good that it was completely finished! This dish certainly has a wow factor.
The lunch bowls offer something more on the healthy side. The Bibim Bowl had carrots, cabbage, cucumber, kale, greens, onion, fried egg, multigrain rice and soy or chilli dressing - with chilli be chosen on this occasion. Yoyu can add extra’s too - and this time wagyu fillets were chosen to add a bit of meatiness. It was such a healthy, tasty dish that again was a stomach filler too as it was big.
We all know it’s supremely important to have good coffee at a busy café. The alternative is - well - it probably won’t be busy. We were happy to find the brew here is very good. They also use lovely cups which does add a further dimension. Pretty cups, tasty brews, arriving quickly - tick, tick, tick!
They have a very pleasant indoor area but the added bonus of an outside building with booths as well as coffee to go. It’s easy to see that these outdoor pods are going to be extremely popular.
Firestone has created quite a ripple in the Hornsby area already. The customers are finding them and the place is busy. It’s what a “new kid on the block” always hopes and strives for. They’ve done it and look set for a long stay in the area.
