Luneburger German Bakery
QVB Shop 77-79 Lower Ground

You know the song from Sound of Music that says “Tea, a drink with German bread”. Well that famous German bread can be bought from several Luneburger German Bakeries around Sydney. Their place in the busy Queen Victoria Building gets plenty of business from the heavy foot traffic there.
The pretzels are possibly the best seller here. They go fast but there’s a constant supply too. The slightly sour thick bready twists have a soft centre and a baked brown crust with a scattering of rock salt crystals on them. They look and taste great - but we love pretzels!
There’s a selection of lunch time options too with a variety of rolls filled with different goodies. You know it’s their own bread too so it’ll be fresh. The fillings are varied and the prices are very decent for the area.
They of course have sweets too. There is an extensive range of pastries making choices difficult. If in doubt though, the traditional apple strudel is always a winner!
Luneburger German Bakery is a smorgasbord of choices. It’s a place to browse at first so you can then study all the options. Don’t rush with your choices though because you may well see something that you had missed at first.
We’re now keen to try more of their range and some of their other venues. The food is certainly tasty and very affordable.
