Social Press
Level 2 Macquarie Shopping Centre
Corner Herring and Waterloo Rds
Macquarie Park, Sydney
The exposed cafe inside shopping centres can often polarise people. Some love the openness and watching the foot traffic go by while others feel like they're on show and can't relax. Some people don't care either way. Social Press is open - there's no denying this. It stretches a long way along one of the corridors it joins - as it's on a shopping intersection. It's a small cafe with what then unfolds as lots of seating - mostly at a series of long shared tables.
Sir was uncharacteristically heading towards the healthier options and chose the SP House-made Granola. It was a big serving of surprisingly light granola topped with Greek yoghurt and berry compote. It satisfied his desire for a healthy start and yet still filled him up. All the right boxes were ticked!
Mlady again veered towards one of her favourites - toast with peanut butter. The Brasserie organic soy and linseed bread was an unsurprising choice. The peanut butter came in a small container so she could add as much or as little as she wanted. She is almost always generous with her use - and this was o exception.
The coffee arrived quickly as well and turned out to be a nice drop.
Social Press has a limited menu - but there are still plenty of choices available. You order at the counter and get a number and the food arrives quickly afterwards. The servings are good sized and the food we had was simple, satisfying and tasty.
