What an exquisite experience we had at Dining Room By Chefin. The evening was elegant and sophisticated as we dined on a delicious five course degustation.

Whilst dining we were treated to piano music and the lovely Tiana who possesses a melodious singing voice. The ambiance was superb! Where we ate, the room had a gorgeous old world charm.

We both had red wine on the night - a lovely drop of Chinon. The wine list has been carefully out together to give you a good range of choices. Then there’s also a great range of specialty cocktails too, so there are plenty of options here.

The first course was Scallop Carpaccio with hand cut ginger chive pesto. It was an elegant dish that had nice fresh delicate flavours with a subtle burst of crunch.

Our second dish was truffle fromage d’affinois and sweet potato. Sir loves all things truffle and this dish ticked all the boxes. It really was a lovely tasty combination of flavours and textures. The sweet potato sat prettily upon the very scrumptious truffle fromage d’affinois.

Mlady is a big fan of seafood and the next dish was achiote marinated lemon Sole with heirloom tomatoes and coriander. This was a very impressive dish with an equally amazing aroma. The fish was cooked perfectly and it had a really good bite! It was a large serving too!

Our next dish and final main was the Wagyu beef cheeks, charred asparagus, pumpkin and potato. Oh my goodness! The Wagyu simply melted and was perfectly cooked! The charred asparagus, pumpkin and potato complemented it so well. What an absolutely lovely dish!

Dessert was Orange Polenta and Almond cake with cucumber sorbet. Do not be put off with what you read - cucumber sorbet. It really was so refreshing with just a hint of cucumber. We would have to say ‘Good, Different’ quote unquote. The Orange Polenta and Almond was a lovely combination and with the cucumber sorbet was a perfect dessert to complete a wonderful meal! We were impressed.

Flynn the bartender extraordinaire made a Durian cocktail for us. For those that know, Durian has a distinctive smell and taste. We’d had the fruit previously on a food visit to Malaysia. It’s good to step out of your comfort zone to try new things and would have to say this drink did grow on us and was lovely. You’ve got to try it.

Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Dining Room By Chefin. Special Thank you to Petko, the CEO of Chefin, for looking after us and taking time from his busy schedule to chat with us. Thank you to Manny our waiter and thanks to Flynn for introducing us to the Durian cocktail.
