Uliveto
33 Bayswater Rd
Potts Point, Sydney
This popular cafe/restaurant is in a prime position on Bayswater Road under a largish apartment complex and set in a lovely umbrella filled bay. It has an almost tropical feel to it - yet also a strong Mediterranean feel as well. Either way - it's a nice place that makes you feel comfortable straight away. We were in the area and looking for a bite and spotted Uliveto. It was busy but we managed to score a table for two under an umbrella and we were quickly served. After ordering our morning coffee's we chose our first meals of the day. Mlady went for the porridge - described as creamy oatmeal porridge with seasonal fruit. It arrived steaming hot and both looking and smelling great. It was a big serving too and she loved it. Sir was almost jealous he didn't have the same!
Sir went for a more traditional cooked breakfast of pesto green eggs with gypsy ham, pine nuts and ham. It was another big serving. The pesto green eggs were great - and didn't overpower the rest of the food or overdo the pesto. There was plenty of ham too and a stack of toast. The added crunch from the pine nuts went well too.
Uliveto is a great indoor/outdoor cafe. The service is attentive and friendly and the food is tasty and comes in big servings as well. We'd gladly revisit this cafe.
