Vertical Espresso
217A Kissing Point Rd
South Turramurra, Sydney
Vertical Espresso has become a very busy and very popular place in its area. It's in South Turramurra so a little of the usual path for cafe's. They do a roaring trade on weekends for breakfast, brunch and lunch - serving some tasty food and very good coffee.
We were in brunch mode and looking for food and coffee - of course. Mlady was in a hungry mood so the bacon and egg toastie sounded ideal. It's made with two free range eggs, eye bacon, tomato relish and tasty cheese all inside schiacciata - an Italian flatbread. It was a big and tasty serving for anyone and even though she was hungry it wasn't finished.
Sir went for something quite unusual for him - muesli. It was toasted fig and maple muesli served with yoghurt and it was a massive bowl. The muesli was crisp and crunchy and had great flavours. There was also a scattering of mixed berries on top too and it all tasted so good together.
Of course we also had our usual coffee's as well. Although we're not sure if it's a house blend or not it was certainly good. They pride themselves on their coffee here though and plenty of people come here just to grab a good cuppa. Check out the cute old souvenir spoons they use too - a nice touch.
Vertical Espresso is a pleasant suburban cafe that also probably wouldn't be out of place in Surry Hills or Newtown. It's got style, some good food and serves a great coffee.
