The new darling of the Sydney dessert crowd is 3 Mama Chef's - and it's their take away ice cream that's wowing everyone. They are of course a restaurant and inside they serve Thai food - but on this occasion we were simply there to try their ice cream scrolls prepared in front of you at their street frontage.
Basically you fill out a short form with your choices - ice cream flavour, sauces and extras. Its the extr's that cause people the most difficultly - trying to decide which ones to choose??? One you're at the counter they prepare your dessert right in front of you, smashing the extras into the mix and spreading it all out on a frozen tray to set it. They continually slice and dice it to help it set and mix properly. Then when ready it's "cut" and scraped into scrolls that are served upright in a cup. It looks great and it tastes just as good.
