Berkelouw Books & Cafe
Westfield Hornsby
236 Pacific Highway
Hornsby, Sydney
A café and a bookstore all in one is a nice combination. Berkelouw have been around Sydney for ages and this quaint venue sprawls along a walkway outside their book store inside Westfield Hornsby. This was a quick solo visit so the perusing of lengthy books sadly wasn’t on the agenda.
The mandatory coffee arrived quite quickly actually and tasted good too. It’s always good when the wait is short and the coffee is hot and strong!
There’s an all day breakfast menu but the bacon and egg roll is always an easy bite to have anywhere and a good yardstick too. This version arrived with a lovely egg and plenty of bacon inside a brioche bun. It was certainly good.
It’s a pleasant place to sit, read a bit if you like and watch the passing foot traffic of shoppers. Being in a glass-sided walkway also means there is plenty of natural light beaming in from all sides.
Berkelouw Books and Cafe was a pleasant surprise. The coffee and food were both good, service was prompt and friendly and it was a nice spot to sit, eat and people watch.
