Berry Sourdough Café and Milkwood Bakery
23 Prince Alfred St
Berry NSW
This placer is an institution - and for good reason. People detour through Berry just to drop by here. Mind you, there’s so many great places in Berry it’s worth visiting anyway. This place is pretty and smells so great with the smell of their baked goods wafting through the air. We were there for breakfast - and of course the opportunity to buy a few things too.
As it’s a bakery there are of course lots of goodies to choose from. They’re all freshly made and its so difficult to choose from all the options there.
The Eggs Benny was a lovely dish. It was a truly local dish too with local eggs on local ham all on toast and slathered in tasty Hollandaise sauce. It was a pretty dish that tasted great too.
As it was a bakery it seemed appropriate to have something from their baked goods. The house baked raisin toast was served in two very thick slices with a side pot of butter. The conclusion was that they bake damn good bread here.
The scrambled eggs with house made organic kimchi also had chipolatas, pickled chillies and cherry tomatoes. It was a unique dish with plenty of different flavours and plenty on the plate to fill any hungry person.
After our meal we again took a good browse through all their baked goods and ended up grabbing quite a few things for later on!
The café part offers a good range of dishes with most of the contents being locally sourced or made on the premises. The smell of freshly baked goods hangs in the air too. It’s certainly enticing.
Berry Woodfired Sourdough Bakery is a charming place to drop by for as meal and leave with a bundle of their baked wonders. Put it on your list.
Sir and Mlady visited Berry Woodfired Sourdough Bakery as guests of Destination NSW. Special thanks to Original Spin for arranging this visit.
