Siam House Thai Restaurant
4-10 Campbell St
Haymarket, Sydney
With the glut of Thai restaurants in the “Thainatown” part of Haymarket we’re all spoiled for choices. It’s a highly competitive market too which means the food and prices for those that last stay very good. We were simply browsing the area for a quick lunch and landed at Siam House. We were able to grab a table quickly and went to the lunch section of the menu - and yes there is such a section.
Pad See Ew is such a great dish. The wide noodles and tangy sauce combine so well. Here you can choose which protein you want and spying crispy pork belly made that choice easy. The pork meat itself was tender and juicy with a great crispy skin. This was a big serving too and tasty.
The other “Pad” - Pad Thai - is also a great combo dish. Again you get a choice of protein and the winner this time was prawns. There were plenty of them too and they were a good size. This big serving was tasty too.
They do have a wine list here and a bar, but we decided to keep it light on this occasion. It was meant to be a quick lunch after all!
Siam House Thai Restaurant has been around for quite a while now. Standing the test of time in this area says a lot. The food we had were big and tasty servings at good prices. It ticked the lunchtime requirements nicely.
