Charlotte's Little Sister
Australian Technology Park
3/1 Central Ave
Eveleigh, Sydney
We had the real pleasure of attending a media launch event for Charlotte's Little Sister at the Australian Technology park. The whole thing got off to a great start with plenty of parking right across the road, which is good as it's a busy area.
The venue is spacious and airy with wonderful relaxing views looking out over parklands. As you walk in you see a counter where you can order drinks and there is also a display section showcasing delicious cakes. There's plenty of seating too. It really is a sprawling place although it's set out nicely and certainly doesn't feel cavernous.
We both had coffees - Sir his usual skim flat white with one sugar and Mlady with her weak soy cappuccino. These coffees were good - so good in fact that we had to have another.
The menu which was described as "Made with love, designed to share" was - cured salmon - orange and lemongrass cured New Zealand salmon with watercress and fennel salad; braised oxtail - braised oxtail minestrone soup with parsley pesto; pumpkin, kale and pecorino salad - pumpkin, kales, and pecorino salad with roasted red peppers, currants, almonds and poppy seeds; cauliflower and broccoli salad - raw cauliflower and broccoli salad with buttermilk and yoghurt dressing; green bean and lime salad - green bean and lime salad with soy sauce and sesame. These were all so good and the presentation so colourful. The oxtail soup was incredibly delicious both with and without the parsley pesto. We were told that the oxtail soup is an old English recipe. It was so good Mlady had 3 serves! The salads were all so fresh and vibrant and the combinations all went so very well together. Love a vibrant green salad and there were plenty here to choose from. The pumpkin, kale and pecorino salad had to be one of the most colourful and appetising salads ever. So much going on with this salad - lovely! We also had servings of bread to go with the soup and salads.
From the rotisserie we had the free range house seasoned chicken. This was moist and tasty, and was seasoned perfectly.
Roasted, we had the grain fed pork belly - grain fed roast pork belly with praline crackling. The crackling was crumbed with honeycomb - how good was this. Lovely tender pork belly - yum! Of course there were roasted potato wedges - roasted potato wedges with garlic, thyme and celery salt. Don't we all love roast potatoes - and these really were so good with a nice crunch outside and a soft and tasty inside.
We also had a juice which consisted of beetroot, carrot, ginger, celery and orange - oh this was so good. Absolutely loved this - so refreshing and healthy.
The food here is so good - vibrant, fresh and healthy. You can have a delicious salad by itself or on a roll. You can also indulge yourself with their daily specials.
