Located in Westfield Parramatta, Delisse is not your average food court experience. Owner Mathieu originates from France and sought to provide a fresh food alternative with a French influence. All the dishes are made fresh each morning and the produce is both local and international.
The mouthwatering display includes baguette sandwiches, quiches, tartelettes, pies, fresh salads, croissants and soups. There are sweet treats for those who want something to go with the wonderful blend of coffee served here. It all looks so appealing and healthy – let’s dig in!
The crumbed chicken baguette was served lightly toasted and was simply delicious, as was the rosemary chicken baguette. The bread is sourced from France as the flour is not available here. It sounds extreme but the difference is obvious in the bread’s superior taste and texture. All the ingredients were fresh (nice ripe tomato) and it was filling without being heavy.
The salads looked tempting too – we didn’t try them but the combinations were interesting and super healthy. It would be a great lunchtime option for working locals as everything is ready-made and healthy.
We still had a little room for something sweet (always, right?) and Dame M was keen to try the all-butter croissants, so we put together a selection of treats to share. As expected, the croissant was divine - flaky and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The taste was just superb – no condiments or butter necessary with these as the flavour was excellent. The other little tarts were tasty too. Gluten free and vegetarian options are also available.
Delisse is open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Sunday and until 9pm on Thursdays. So whenever these Dames are in the Parramatta cbd we’ll be bypassing the fast food rubbish and going for these fresh and tasty options.
