ECHO ON THE MARINA - ROSEVILLE CHASE, SYDNEY

A beautiful water location to soak up the ambience sipping a wine and dining on a delicious meal. “Seafood by the sea” - lovely. This place has seriously lovely views. The good thing is that the food matches this!

To drink we both chose a red - and a Merlot was our “go to” on this occasion. It was so pleasant having a sip and gazing out over the water. This is a great place to let the hustle and bustle of daily life just drift away.

Mlady loves her salad and particularly beetroot, so when she saw on the menu - Roasted Mixed Beet Salad - this was an instant winner. This very yummy salad had rocket, mint yoghurt, lemon and olive oil dressing. It was artistically presented and it smelled delish. It was a substantial serving and the rocket combined so well with the beetroot. This salad had really nice flavours and textures and the sauce was very tasty.

Sir, wanting a fish theme, went for the Asian Spiced Crab and Prawn Fritters. These came with garden bits, sriracha mayonnaise, asian lime dressing. The fritters had a lovely light crispness with plenty of tasty filling and the sauce was tangy and tasty - and there was plenty of it.

As a main, Mlady decided on the Pan-Seared Baby Red Snapper with stir-fried seasonal vegetables and cream dill sauce. When it arrived it was so appetisingly presented. A lot of colour and different textures. The fish was cooked perfectly with the skin slightly crisped. Nice.

Sir spied the Angel Hair Marinara and chose this. It had crab, prawns, mussels, calamari and fish with tomato, chilli, garlic and basil sauce. This looked impressive when it arrived and there was plenty of seafood. The angel hair had a lovely coating of the tomato chilli garlic and basil sauce. Sir thoroughly enjoyed this very tasty dish.

For dessert, Sir, who is quite partial to banana bread, spotted a banana dessert - Double Banana Cake - a luscious banana cake topped with banana cream cheese icing and drizzled with dark chocolate ganache. You can choose either chantilly cream or ice-cream so Sir chose Ice-cream. It was a thick rich cake with strong flavours that Sir really enjoyed.

Mlady took a break from anything chocolate and went with Persian Orange and Almond Cake - traditional persian style that is soft, moist and dense and doused with orange blossom syrup. Mlady teamed this too with ice-cream. The cake was just how the menu described. It was a lovely cake not at all too sweet like one might imagine.

The food at Echo on the Marina is so flavoursome with great combinations and the servings are substantial. They have a varied menu where there is something for everyone.

Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Echo on the Marina. Thank you to Shenae, Luke, Ayan and John for looking after us.
