HARRODS FOOD HALL - KNIGHTSBRIDGE, LONDON

Harrods Food Hall

Food Glorious Food! It’s as far as the eye can see here. There are food halls everywhere but Harrods is certainly one of the special ones. It’s a treasure trove of goodies. Once you start to wander it’s hard not to stop and ogle at what they have - and buy up! We always make it a point to visit when we’re in London.

The pastries are so eye-catching. The vibrant colours and crispy casings just literally jump out at you from their shelves. We usually buy a variety for later on, but knowing they’re in the bag makes it hard to wait.

As tourists we tend to just browse in the seafood section, but it’s a fun browse. Whilst they have all the “usuals” they also have some of the more obscure choices here too. One day, when we actually feel like cooking in London, we’ll give this a go.

There are some more “local” goodies here too like these Scotch Eggs and of course the Pork Pies. We grabbed a few of the pies and they were great. Next time it’ll be the eggs perhaps!

People come here for treats but many just come to shop for food for their evening meals. the wide range of home made pastas always look good. There are also plenty of heat-and-eat options here too.

Back to the treats and the huge range of cakes and biscuits always attract attention - including ours. We’ve tried some of the biscuits but never quite managed a whole cake. They do always look so good though!

There’s a really big section for chocolates. You can get pretty much any type of chocolate here and there are some famous names too - like Alain Ducasse. Having eaten at his three Michelin starred restaurant at The Dorchester we certainly know his creations are good.

And they also have coffee here too - freshly ground coffee of course. You can get a cup but you can also take away some ground beans.

This is a food hall that stands out from the masses. It’s an indulgent we admit, but one with some really interesting and unique offerings. It’s a fixture on our London itinerary and it will stay that way.
