What strikes you initially is the location, water views and the view of the Harbour Bridge with its dare-devil climbers. We were fortunate to see a lovely P&O ocean liner grace by.
For drinks we had wine. Mlady went sweet for starters and had a really lovely Wicked Secrets Sparkling Pink Moscato S.A. Sir had a Scarpantoni Cabernet Sauvignon McLaren Vale S.A. We both enjoyed these so much that we went back for seconds.
The Teriyaki chicken with sesame seeds was tender and tasty with a nice hint of Teriyaki.
As a five piece plate we chose the salmon Sashimi. We both love salmon and this was a very refreshing dish that tasted so divine.
We just had to try Sushi and chose Prawn and Avocado - Cucumber and Japanese Mayonnaise. This was so yummy and there was plenty of Prawn and Avocado. The vibrant fish roe scattered on the outside of the rice gave it a lovely taste sensation when they "popped" in your mouth. Loved this!
The Seared Scallops with Honey Ponzu and Fish Roe was so lightly seared - perfectly cooked - beautiful.
Our final savoury dish was a larger one - the salmon fillet. What arrived was a substantial seared fillet served with yuzu green salad. This certainly well and truly filled any remaining gaps!
For dessert and something a little different, Sir had the Chocolate Sushi Roll. Oh My Goodness! Incredibly good, so good and yes Mlady did "pinch" one! This really was an amazingly Yummy dessert.
Mlady a huge fan of Limoncello chose the Limoncello & Lime Sorbet. Another Oh My Goodness - Divine! You pour the mouthwatering Limoncello over the Lime Sorbet - mix together - and enjoy! Or you could just savour the wonderful flavour of the Limoncello and eat the Sorbet separately - the choice is yours. Whatever way you choose - this is a great dessert!
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Hicksons Izakaya. Thank you to Omar - manager, Camila and Victoria for looking after us on the night. Special thanks to Ailsa for arranging this visit.
