Like a tree in spring - there are a few leaves - well Leaf Cafe and Co's - around Sydney. We dropped in on their Pennant Hills place for a quickish brunch. We hadn't been here before so it was a case of grabbing a seat and studying the menu. The choices certainly sounded good.
Of course we started with our obligatory coffee's - it was a weekend morning after all - and they arrived hot and tasty without being "overcooked". We were off to the right start at this pleasant place tucked away on the edge of a suburban shopping complex in Pennant Hills in Sydneys north.
Food next - unsurprisingly - and Mlady went straight for her almost usual - scrambled eggs. These were unusual, arriving looking somewhat similar to an omelette. The disc of egg certainly looked and tasted great and came with a serving of toasted sourdough as well. It turned out to be a tasty and hearty meal.
Sir went for the more unusual Scotch egg with avocado which turned out to be a standout dish. Described as Moroccan spicy sausage , boiled egg, smashed avocado with ruby chard, chilli jam, harissa sauce on sourdough - it had a complex mix of full flavours and textures that worked so nicely together. The kick in it was a lovely bonus too - and it was yet another big meal.
We arrived hoping to simply be fed and left very satisfied and more than happy to try more on another occasion.
