We felt like something nice and spicy - so decided on Papparich at Macquarie Park as we do have a soft spot for Malaysian food, having visited and eaten our way around both KL and Penang.

For entree we ordered the beef satay. The tasty beef skewers arrived with a good supply of that very tasty satay sauce and were garnished with slices of cool cucumber and chunks of Spanish onion. It's a great way to start a meal and reminiscent of the hawker markets in Penang - except we weren't watching these being cooked over open flames this time!

We always have to have Roti Canai, so we ordered this but with no sauce. We had to wait a little (but not too long) and it was worth the wait. It was piping hot and oh so crispy. We did dip it in that lovely satay sauce though - nice. Sir loved this and could just keep eating roti - and would if not stopped!.

The first main we had was Pappa Char Koay Teow. This is wok-fried noodles with prawns, fish cakes, egg, bean sprouts and chives. It is also mildly spicy. We both thoroughly enjoyed this enormously flavoursome dish. There was so many great textures and combinations which all go so well together. This is a favourite of both Sir and Mlady.

Our second main was dry curry egg noodles with curry chicken. This was egg noodles doused in a rich gravy and served with curry chicken, choy sum and red chilli. This too was a very tasty dish. It was lovely moist tender chicken in what was a really delicious gravy. The very tasty dry egg noodles and the choy sum added an earthiness which we liked - especially Mlady as she loves her "greens".

For drinks we both had Coke zero with ice for an alcohol free night - just for a change! PappaRich isn't licenced, but that doesn't really matter. They do have a good selection of drinks from tea's, juices through to milk based beverages.

We've been to a few PappaRich restaurants. It's a simple concept - study the menu, fill out the order form with the item numbers for your order, press the buzzer and they then take your form and the food arrives shortly afterwards. Easy, fast and tasty!
