Green Peppercorn
Level 1, 388 Pitt St
Sydney CBD
Green Peppercorn isn't the easiest place to find in the Thai district of Sydney CBD, but it's certainly worth the effort to get there! Simply go up a flight of stairs inside The Civic Hotel and there it is, restaurant and bar area. If it's full (which happens a lot) don't fret - just put your name down and settle in at the bar till it's your turn. It won't be long and the drinks are worth it anyway.
We were there with a group and only snapped a few pictures of the many dishes we had. Put simply, it was delicious. The place gets very busy but don't let that put you off or you'll miss out on a great meal.
The pork knuckle was a killer dish. The huge serving of meat with masses of crispy crackling was just so good. The sauce was great too.
Massaman is a dish that's hard to resist, and in our case we often don't resist it! This was a melt in the mouth version full of flavour. The meat melted in our mouths and the curry was rich and tasty.
Don't be afraid to also try a salad here. This one, the roast duck salad, had plenty of flavour and plenty of duck too.
Possibly the dish of the night, the whole deep fried crispy snapper was a dish that had flavour, texture and never seemed to end! The many many chunks of tender juicy fish all coated in a crispy layer were delicious.
Green Peppercorn is a gem worth finding.
