Ryan’s Gourmet Kitchen
4-8 Eucalyptus Dr
Westleigh, Sydney
Having recently won the award for the most outstanding restaurant in the Hornsby Shire, we thought it was about time we paid Ryan’s Gourmet Kitchen a visit. It’s a smallish place that stretches along the outside of Aldi inside Westleigh Shopping Centre. It has a rustic feel to it with a long timber panelled bench.
We started with a few drinks. Mlady surprisingly decided on apple juice instead of coffee. Sir stayed true to the morning ritual and had his skim flat white. Both arrived quickly and were good.
The sweet pea and corn cakes sounded interesting and so Sir chose this. There were two large cakes that were delicious on their own but even better when topped with a nicely poached egg and tasty roasted corn salsa. It was a hearty meal to start the day and kind of healthy too with all the veggies it had. The yolk on the poached egg was beautiful too - oozing out over the cakes when cut.
Mlady is the scrambled eggs queen and so this was an easy choice for her. The serving was nicely prepared and came with a side of toasted grained sourdough.
It is a bit off the beaten track but worth finding. There are plenty of interesting choices available on the menu too.
We left impressed with Ryan’s Gourmet Kitchen. The food was extremely fresh and tasty. We can see why they have won awards. The service was friendly too - it’s a relaxing pleasant place to be.
