Sourdough sits on a busy corner of Westfield Hornsby right on one of their main doorways. It’s a place that has inside seating as well as some outside on the terrace. There are certainly plenty of options.
The obligatory coffees started the brunch and the order was taken quickly and they arrived just as promptly. They use Campos Coffee here and it was a great way to start the meal.
First choice was the Haloumi Breakfast. This busy meal had a lot happening. The base was toasted sourdough (no surprises there) with a layer of spinach, avocado chunks and pine nuts all topped with two nicely poached eggs. Then there were the slices of fried haloumi and a sprinkle of tomato salsa and zaatar. It was a big tasty meal for those that are hungry.
The bacon and egg roll is also big here - even though it’s on their Light Breakfast Menu. The hefty roll was filled with two fried eggs and a pile of crispy bacon all topped off with tomato relish. You can have aioli too but we stuck with the simpler version.
Our junior reviewer had a single pancake with ice cream - the breakfast of champions!?!? It was a big fluffy pancake with a good sized scoop on ice cream - just what was wanted.
They do a roaring trade here and they’re open morning, noon and night and the times in between. It’s a café and a restaurant all in one.
Although Sourdough was extremely busy, the service was fast, friendly and very helpful. We left there satisfied and full and well and truly ready for the day ahead.
