Spice Theory Indian Restaurant

Spice Theory Indian Restaurant has a delicious menu where "all curries are gluten free and dietary requirements can be cooked to order". It's a lovely restaurant that also caters for take-aways and in summer you will also be able to sit outside in the arcade. There is ample parking out the back - right on the doorstep in fact - which makes it nice and easy to get to.
The pappadums were light and crispy and the accompanying dips of sweet mango chutney, spicy tomato and the ever popular refreshing mint sauce were delicious. An appetising way to start our meal.
The Mini Keema Dosa were like an Indian wrap. These signature "wraps" were very delicate and crisp surrounding crisp white lentil and rice. The lamb, in a rich well spiced Masala served with sambar and the coconut chutney gave these treats even more complexity ands depth of flavour. Drizzling these into the wraps - so nice!
The Mixed Platter (entree) was next. This had a great variety. They were very tasty combinations and mixes of flavours. It had Chicken Tikka, Hara Bhara Kebab, Samoa and Seekh Kebab. We both really enjoyed this substantial entree.
For a main we had the Aloo goat - tender pieces of goat meat cooked with curried potatoes, yoghurt and ginger. How tender was this dish! It was divine. Not tough, not chewy, it was just right. The goat with tasty curried potatoes, yoghurt and ginger was such a great tasting combination. We thoroughly enjoyed this dish. We used our naan to soak up the yummy sauce too!
Our next main was Konkan prawns - prawns cooked in a creamy coconut sauce on low fire and finished with coriander. This was so full of flavour and had an amazing sauce. We could have eaten the sauce alone with a spoon - Delicious! The prawns were plump and cooked perfectly. Again using our naan bread to soak up the sauce - another lovely experience!
The rice was lovely and using it to soak up all these sauces - divine! The naan bread too was so fluffy, soft and had a nice outside crunch. It was good on it's own and equally good to mop up the yummy sauces.
How delicate was the dessert! We had the Rose panna cotta - which was a rose-infused panna cotta. It was so light, and we loved the flavour with it's hint of rose. It was such a beautiful dessert to end our very scrumptious meal.
The food at Spice Theory is really very good. The menu is varied with new adaptions and old favourites including butter chicken and chicken tikka. The meals are fresh, mouth-watering and the servings are substantial.
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Spice Theory. Special thank you to owner Kailash and to Mukesh and Tony for looking after us on the night.
