CRINITI'S - WOOLLOOMOOLOO, SYDNEY

Criniti's Woolloomooloo
2/6 Cowper Wharf Rd
Woolloomooloo, Sydney

For delicious Italian food overlooking one of the prettiest locations in Sydney - Criniti's Woolloomooloo is the place to visit. To be there in the evening and witnessing the incredible city nightlights of Sydney whilst eating yummy food was amazing! Location, Location, Location!

For starters - to drink we both had different Criniti's signature cocktails. Sir had a Pina Coco Zaza which is a classic pina colada blended with vanilla gelato, coconut syrup, malibu & white rum with fresh pineapple and kiwi fruit. As Sir is a HUGE fan of rum drinks - this went down a treat.
Mlady chose Gin Ginger Spice - Larios gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup, topped with ginger beer, garnished with black pepper and lemon. Maldy loves her ginger beer and thoroughly enjoyed this cocktail.

As an entree we had the unique and very very tasty 1m mozzarella stick. The herbs on top enhanced the wonderful taste of this wood fired bread stick. This was so yummy and the cheese oozed and was oh so good. We loved this!

Our next impressive entree was the fritto board. There was so much on this it was hard to decide what to start. It consisted of salt and pepper calamari, popcorn prawns, cheesy rice balls, arancini, fried cheese balls, zucchini flowers and crumbed eggplant, served with chilli tapenade and garlic and chilli aioli. The lemon had a gauze "cover" over it so as when you squeezed it you only got the juice and not the pips. This was a nice touch. This board was a truly amazing array of different appetising goodies with tasty sauces to dip into. We would thoroughly recommend this - and could even serve as a main for a few people!

We decided to choose mains from the new "Leggera" (Light) menu to check out the options there. Sir chose a pizza - Detox Panigale - activated charcoal base, vegan cheese, mushroom carpaccio, olives, artichokes, onion and rocket with a lemon dressing. It was a very interesting looking pizza. Don't be put off by the colour of the base as is not the usual pizza base colour. In fact, it's black. This really was a very tasty pizza. It had great combinations and flavours that worked very well together. We both enjoyed this - even Sir - and it was healthy!

Mlady chose a salad - Huayra - lettuce, aspargus, green beans, roasted beets, avocado, cucumber, tomato, quinoa, farro, jalepenos, almonds and sunflower seeds with a vinaigrette dressing. Mlady loves her greens. This was a lovely fresh and vibrant salad. She loved the fresh, crunchiness of the lettuce. There was so much going on in this salad making it a deliciously tasty and wholesome salad.

We did manage to fit in dessert - just. The desserts we shared were Tiramisu and their Nutella pizza. How good were these! The tiramisu was so light, tasty and fluffy - and a big serving too.

The Nutella pizza - well oh my goodness - glorious and Delicious with a capital "D"! This adds a wow factor to any table and is a great "sharing" dessert.

Sir also paired his dessert with one of his favourites - an Amaretto!

The food at Criniti's Woolloomooloo is very good and delicious and the servings are really substantial. There is so much to choose from on their extensive menu, with something for everyone.

Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Criniti's Woolloomooloo. Thank you to Steph, Claudio, Monica and Mattia for looking after us on the night.
