Sydney CBD
The Walrus Café is an oasis right in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. It's only recently opened but is becoming very popular very quickly. The space boasts floor to ceiling windows, a Scandi themed interior full of natural light and a subtle vibe, making it a good choice for any occasion, formal or casual.
We arrived for lunch on a busy weekday and although the place seemed packed when we walked in, it wasn’t long till we were shown to a table and given a short description of the menu, which is quite extensive and diverse.
We thought we’d start with something healthy and opted for a freshly squeezed juice. One of us went for the Green Machine which was packed with Kale, ginger, cucumber and apple while the other opted for a more subtle fusion and ordered the Sunrise which had lovely flavours such as orange, pineapple, watermelon and apple. Both juices were full of flavour, obviously freshly juiced and served right on the spot.
Of course, juices were not the only drinks on available to us. Walrus has a long list of drinks available, including coffee, delicious smoothies and a large list of Purezza premium drinks.
Time for some food though and unlike our drinks, our food choices were somewhat different. Count N opted for a burger while Contessa D chose a salad.
If you like big burgers then the American double cheese burger is for you. Its loaded with two massive grain fed beef patties, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, red onion and a delicious house sauce, all nestled in a milky bun. The burger is served with a massive serve of beer battered chips too.
The salad was a chicken and quinoa one and If you think you have tried every type of chicken and quinoa salad then wait till you try the one here at Walrus. It’s a lovely fusion of free range chicken and quinoa blended with pistachios, honey roasted bacon, peas, fennel and parmesan, all mixed through with a lovely house creamy dressing. Contessa D was quite impressed with how delicious it was.
Finally, we finished our lunch with something sweet, a lovely chocolate filled croissant which was so fresh and delicious, the flaky pastry was melting in our mouths.
Walrus ticked all the boxes for us. With great service, amazing food and service with a smile, it should be high on your list for your next lunch or even breakfast choice.
Walrus Is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 4pm. It won’t be long till we are back, that’s for sure.
The Count N and Contessa D dined as guests of The Walrus Cafe. Special thanks to Catherine and Sophie from Papaya PR for arranging this visit.
