Lone Star Rib House
80 Blacktown Rd
Blacktown, Sydney
Mlady had a long overdue catch up with Friend K and they decided to lunch at Lone Star in Blacktown. It’s certainly a place that stands out with its Americana Texas Saloon frontage. Lone Star are known for their steaks, ribs and burgers but they decided on something a bit lighter. The menu does have plenty of filling options for those with big appetites but also plenty for customers after something quick or light too.
Mlady went with the Classic Caesar salad. This came with plenty of tender chicken on lettuce with croutons and a nicely poached runny egg perched on top. Smashing that poppable yolk was great and it added nicely to the salad mix. You can make this dish gluten free too by simply not having the croutons. It was a substantial dish that was deceptively filling.
Friend K had a beef dish with salad and veggies. This vibrant dish had plenty of everything on it and the colours really popped on the plate. It also turned out to be a lot more filling than we had expected.
As it was a quick light lunch we steered away from alcohol on this occasion and simply had a couple of diet cokes. That said, they do have a good bar list available with plenty of choices.
Lone Star has created an atmosphere and style that certainly stands out. It’s quirky but also fun. The food options are extensive and well beyond the ribs and steaks they are best known for.
