THE CLUBHOUSE BAR - KOGARAH, SYDNEY

The Clubhouse Bar

The Kogarah Clubhouse is a lovely venue. When you walk in you feel as if you are walking into a hotel lobby. You still sign in at a counter but it is not like the counters we are all used to where you have stand behind  to hand over your ID. What there is now is an island counter which actually makes the process feel more personal. The Clubhouse Bar area was right in front of us as we entered the club. It’s a nice space with a  variety of seating options from tables and chairs, through high tables and bar stools and on to lounge chairs as well. They’ve catered to all preferences. Timber panelling softens the whole area and gives it a warm inviting feel.

We both wanted a drink and they have a good cocktail, wine and beer list here. We decided on cocktails although the beers on tap were inviting too. Mlady grabbed a favourite of hers, an Espresso Martini. It arrived in a martini glass with a lovely layer of foam and three coffee beans suspended on top. It looked impressive and tasted great.

Sir stayed true to his rum leaning and had a refreshing Dark and Stormy. It came in a highball glass with a slice of lime as a garnish.

To go with our drinks we decided to grab some of the bar food from their menu. They have a decent range of bites available here to go with the drinks menu. It’s worth looking at. We started with some prawn twisters which came with sweet chilli sauce. These long tapering cones of crispy pastry filled with prawn meat were great. The “fat” end had the most meat but the taper was deliciously crunchy too.

Spying Peking Duck Spring Rolls on the menu made the next choice easy. We love Peking Duck and love spring rolls. The two together was a perfect match. These also came with sweet chilli sauce.

The Clubhouse Bar has plenty to offer. Their menu has plenty of different options to cater to most tastes with all sorts of bites. The drink lists are long and cover most things people would be seeking too.

The Clubhouse Bar has a warm feel to it. It’s a great place to start the night before moving on to one of the neighbouring restaurants inside Kogarah Clubhouse like Blake St Kitchen - check it out (here) - but you could also just as easily settle in here for a longer haul. Sir and Mlady visited as guests of Kogarah Clubhouse. Special thanks to Pendulum Communications for arranging this visit.
