For deliciously refreshing cocktails and a good varied menu that serves great food - including an amazing “Schnitty” - you will certainly experience this at Broadway Crown.
For drinks we went with lovely refreshing cocktails. Sir had a blood orange Margarita – made from El Jimador Tequila, Cointreau, blood orange, lemon and lime. It had a nice cut of orange peel and a slightly sour taste as you would expect. It was an interesting twist on a Margarita. Mlady went for one of her faves, a Mojito. It had Havana Club rum, mixed with fresh limes, brown sugar and mint leaves. Boy this smelled so good and it also had such a beautiful refreshing taste. This is one of Mlady’s “go to” cocktails and she loved this one.
Our great entrée was the Cauliflower Bites – nicely spiced golden parmesan crumbed florets with aioli. It was a very substantial serving for a starter that tasted really good. There was a nice covering of parmesan and the spiced crumbled florets had a great subtle “bite” to them.
Mlady eyed the “schnitty” and went this. The menu described it as a classic schnitzel served with chips, salad and a choice of either mushroom sauce or gravy. Mlady chose gravy. This dish had a good wow factor. There certainly was plenty of tasty juicy schnitzel, nice fresh salad and the chips were light, crisp and had such a great flavour. Mlady really enjoyed this dish. They actually serve a giant schnitzel here too for just a few bucks more - but you’d need a massive appetite to try this!
For his main, Sir had the Fried Chicken Burger – butter milk fried chicken, American cheddar, onion rings, crispy bacon, tomato and lettuce with their signature mustard sauce. This delicious fried chicken burger had the mandatory wooden skewer keeping all this yumminess together. This burger looked good and tasted oh so good too. Sir loved it. It was massive again and had lots of great flavours and a wonderful combination of textures.
We did have dessert and after much deliberation (and no surprises for the chocoholic Mlady) we had the triple chocolate brownie. This was served with vanilla ice cream and Belgian chocolate. One word – Delicious! It was an amazing Brownie with such a rich yummy sauce. Mlady, as the resident chocoholic, especially loved this.
Sir indulged in another cocktail. This time he went for the Espresso Martini – Vodka O, Kahlua, Licor 43, sugar and cold drip expresso. It was a lovely dark rich cocktail which Sir thoroughly enjoyed. It went very well with dessert too.
The food at Broadway Crown is substantial, huge in fact, and their menu has much to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. They make really good cocktails here too.
Sir and Mlady dined as guests of Broadway Crown. Thank you to Ryan and Mary for looking after us on the night. Special thanks to Claire and April from CPM Online Marketing for arranging this visit.
