Meet Mica is a chic café right in the heart of Surry Hills. Its been serving Asian themed deliciousness for about 18 months now. Meet Mica is conveniently located on Elizabeth Street near central station. The interior is bright and tastefully decorated with ample seating, perfect for intimate catch ups or depending on the occasion, those big group brunches that seem to happen more often now.
We chose to seat a table near the window and engaged into people watching. We started with two coffees, a morning ritual we have held for years. We normally order two long blacks but this morning it was a long black and a flat white (Count J deviated away from the norm). We loved the Single Origin coffee and this one which was full, rich and smooth.
Next up some food and Meet Mica’s Asian inspired menu means you will be spoiled for choice regardless of whether you are a savoury person, sweet lover or like us, just like everything.
Our first dish was the Eggs Benedict with fried Bao. This classic breakfast dish had a lovely Chinese twist as the fried Bao was fluffy and scooped up all the egg yumminess and delicious sauce. It came with Miso Bacon but you could choose ham, smoked salmon or even crab salad as a side. This was
Next, we tried the Crab Croissant. Definitely a unique offering for breakfast and one we wanted to try, and boy are we glad we did. The croissant was huge, one of the biggest we have ever seen and inside was a mountain of delicious and fluffy scrambled eggs with crab carefully folded through and generously garnished with jewel-like salmon roe. A really special and tasty twist on your everyday scrambled eggs!
Our finale was the famous Matcha French Lava toast. Not only delicious to eat but a spectacular presentation as the matcha filling spilled out like lava as we cut into the fluffy toast. Drizzled with the side of condensed milk for some sweetness, and with some of the fresh fruit accompaniment it was a truly delicious breakfast experience that will having you coming back.
Meet Mica is open 7 days a week. We absolutely loved our breakfast thee and can’t wait to go back to try more of their dishes.
The Counts dined as guests of Meet Mica. Special thanks to Claire and April from CPM Online Marketing for arranging this visit.
