DUNBAR HOUSE | VAUCLUSE, SYDNEY

Dunbar House
9 Marine Pde
Vaucluse, Sydney

Dunbar House is nestled in beautiful Watson’s Bay featuring breathtaking views of Sydney’s skyline. The lovely Moreton Bay fig trees and serene beachfront add to Dunbar House’s charm. The building itself was built in 1837 and has been recently refurbished.

Today we were attending a luncheon and after a short tour of the downstairs area upon arrival, we made our way upstairs to the man dining area. We were greeted with champagne and took a spot on the balcony where we enjoyed the sun and some canapes which were freshly made and went so well with the lovely champagne.

Our luncheon started with a short presentation on Grand Pacific groups series of venues. We were reminded that the QVB Tea Rooms are also part of this group. We love high tea.

Next we got to sample some of the dishes available at Grand Pacific venues, including Dunbar house.

Count J enjoyed a lovely crispy skinned Atlantic salmon. It was beautiful and flaky and the presentation was spectacular. This is a dish to he would be happy to revisit whenever he could.

Count N tried the duck confit which was also perfectly cooked and served on a bed of mash that was silky and creamy. It again was beautifully presented and the flavours matched its appearance.

The event ended with a lovely wine and cheese pairing presentation.

We enjoyed a smooth Barossa Valley Pinot Noir, a full bodied Shiraz from Victoria and even a some luxurious French Champagne. Each wine thoughtfully matched with beautiful cheese and each bringing out the full taste of the wine. We thoroughly enjoyed every red wine we tasted.

Of course, functions and venue hire are not the only experiences Dunbar Bar House offers.

They are also open for brunch every Sunday. So If you haven’t made your way out to Watson’s Bay as yet, we highly recommend you do.

The Counts dined as guests of Dunbar House and Grand Pacific Group. Special thanks to Vanessa from Grand Pacific Group for this invitation.
