Thai takeaway has to be one of the most sought after treats these days, and for good reason. The fragrant food is usually light and tasty and there’s plenty of variety too. Absolute Thai is no exception. Our biggest problem is that we tend to over order. We did it again this time too! We started with money bags. We always order these crispy balls of flavour. The pastry envelopes the chicken and prawn filling perfectly and it’s a nice crunchy start to a Thai meal.
We added vegetable spring rolls, prawn rings and fish cakes. The spring rolls were crispy and tasty and the fish cakes were tender and easily devoured. The prawn donuts were a new one for us. These were rings of minced prawn and chicken meat with a coating of breadcrumbs and all deep fried. These were real winners and ones to have again and again!
Our favourite main was the chicken pad siew. These tender flat noodles were mixed with plenty of tender chicken and it was all in a tangy sauce. We devoured this.
Thai food on a cold night must involve some curry right! We grabbed two. We couldn’t decide between the green curry chicken or the red curry chicken so we had both. It was an easy choice but we were surprised at how big the servings were. They don’t skimp here and it was spicy and tasty.
Finally, for a bit of red meat we ordered the beef with chilli and mushroom. It was packed with beef and all so tender and juicy.
Our Thai take away meal was perhaps a bit over the top for just two people but we certainly had plenty of variety and it was all very good too.
Absolute Thai doesn’t skimp on quantities or quality. Their servings are massive and it all tastes great. If you over order, like we did, there is always the joy of leftovers the next day!
