Toastiesmith is a new sensation in Sydney. We say sensation because every time we find ourselves walking past one (there are a few of them in Sydney) we see queues out the door waiting to try some of their yumminess. What is it you say? Think Korean inspired street food, delicious fluffy brioche and amazing fillings all combined into one mountain of taste.
We visited Toastiesmith Darling Square and we weren’t surprised to find a queue waiting to order - all nicely spread out too! That queue didn’t put us off though, the staff are extremely efficient, friendly and it all moved really fast.
Whilst Toastiesmith is a take away business, the store we visited at Darling Square had a lovely seating arrangement around it, so you can definitely order your toasties and grab a seat inside. Of course, you can take your order with you but good luck trying not to devour it all in one go and as you walk out the door (they smell just as amazing as they look).
There is so much choice on the menu, we had a lot of difficulty deciding what to order. Toastiesmith definitely has something for everyone with traditional breakfast and brunch flavours, such as the Ham and Spam, the Bacon my Heart and Eggsmith to more Asian inspired options such as the Taro Breeze and Yakitori.
The Yakitori toastie boasted Katsuobushi chicken and veggie skewers with seaweed salad and sesame and wafu slaw. One might argue that this is more a lunch option but we loved it so much we could have it any time of the day.
We also tried the Ham and Spam, which although more of a traditional breakfast toastie, still had a hint of Asian inspired deliciousness. It had fluffy scrambled eggs, Cheese, Ham, diced spam, roasted sesame flavoured slaw and honey mustard.
Three words that pop to mind with these toasties are: Delicious, Fresh, Huge! And unique, okay sorry that was four words. We enjoyed our toasties with a couple of smoothies. A yellow smoothie which had mango, pear, passionfruit and chia seeds and a green smoothie that had avocado, pineapple, baby spinach and chia seeds. Both smoothies were fresh, healthy and really easy to drink and they were a great combination with the toastie. They also have coffee and soft drinks if smoothies are not your thing.
We absololutely loved our visit to Toastiesmith. If you are looking for amazing, fresh and unique food which you can enjoy on the go make sure you check out Toastiesmith. We are definitely going back to try a few more of their flavours.
