Pastadelli
11 Railway Ave
Wahroonga, Sydney
Sitting right in the middle of the cafe strip of Wahroonga station, Pastadelli may not sound like a cafe at first instance on the name alone. In fact, it is a cafe and so much more. It’s a long place stretching back from the street frontage with a small number of tables on the footpath too - perfect for people watching at brunch on a weekend.
We loved the name of this dish - Crazy Eggs. It had two nicely fried eggs on top of layers of chorizo and avocado and coriander salsa and a hose made tomato relish all on toast. It was big, bold and very good.
Of course, being brunch time means coffee was needed. They serve up a good brew here too and it all arrived quickly to the table after ordering.
This order was just eggs and toast. You choose how you want the eggs and these were fried. They were nicely done, sunny side up, with great yolks there ready to cut in to.
Sometimes toast is all we want or need for breakfast or brunch. Then the next questions are what type of bread and then what topping? This time the choice was simply raisin toast. It was a good choice as the toast was thick cut and nice and tasty.
Our junior reviewer went straight for the pink cupcake in the counter inside. It arrived at our table shortly afterwards and was picked up so fast it made taking this picture a challenge! Judging by how fast it was then eaten it must have been pretty good!
Pastadelli bills themselves as more than just a cafe, but with the name they have they perhaps need to say more than just a deli. Either way, it’s true, they are multiple things. Inside the venue there are long display counters with cakes, pastries, sandwiches, wraps and lots of salad and pasta dishes. People come to take these away or to have here.
Pastadelli is a busy place that is even busier on weekend mornings. It’s in an area with plenty of cafes and it has been around for a long time so it must be pleasing plenty of people. We enjoyed our visit there. The food was good and the service was friendly and helpful.
