Formerly known as Hogs Breath, Hog’s Australia’s Steakhouse still has their amazing steak and chicken menus with all the trimmings. Mlady and company was visiting Hogs at St. Marys for a lunch and was eager to see what variety they had. .
The quirky decor is quite spectacular. There is a lot of history in this place. We spied old advertisements of bygone days that bought back great memories.
Take a squizz at the walls and you will spy lovely old black and white pictures of how St. Marys looked in days gone by. See if you can spot the old sign that was possibly originally used for St. Marys railway station. It would have been hard smuggling that one out under a coat!
We all had cool drinks to start with. Cranberry juice (something different and refreshing), a lemonade and a lemon squash. First meal up was the Thai salad. It was grilled beef tossed in sweet chilli sauce, sliced cucumber, coriander, mint, raw slaw, crisp lettuce, zesty ginger, lime and coriander dressing and crunchy noodles. This all had nice great flavours and the crunchy noodles went so well with this dish.
The Parmigiana chicken was next. This was crumbed chicken breast topped with tasty Italian style tomato sauce and a duo of melted cheeses. The chicken was nice and tender and there was plenty of it. The tasty Italian sauce and duo of melted cheeses were tasty too. The salad with it was crisp. This meal certainly was enjoyable.
The last meal was steak and it was cooked to order with a lovely crisp serving of Hogs curly fries and a side of fried onions. It certainly was tasty.
There really is so much to choose from and there is certainly something for everyone. We only had mains on this visit but there were plenty of starters as well as desserts there too.
There are plenty of Hog’s all over the place. They’ve set themselves up nicely with quirky décor that is a walk down memory lane and plenty of big tasty meals available on their menu’s too. It’s not just steaks either. they have seafood, chicken and salads there too.
