Like us, you probably don't initially think of food when you mention Ikea. However, there is actually a busy cafe here that does a busy trade. We were there browsing through their massive store - and this place is huuuge - and like a lot of others there we needed a bit of refueling.
It was lunch time - well perhaps late brunch - and Sir unsurprisingly steered straight for the smoked salmon after briefly considering the signature meatballs. It was a decent sized serving with plenty of salmon and a nice pile of greenery beside it. A dash of vinaigrette on the salad went well and a squeeze of the lemon wedge on the salmon topped it all off nicely.
Mlady went for pumpkin soup. She thoroughly enjoyed its rich full flavour and it disappeared very quickly - in fact a bit to fast for the photograph!
There's a wide variety of food and drinks available here. There are cakes and pastries, salads, hot foods and hot and cold drinks.
We'd certainly be more than happy to eat here again while shopping. Maybe next time it'll be the meatballs!
