Margherita & Co
World Square
12/91 Liverpool St
Sydney CBD
We dropped in here to check out this bright airy new kid on the block and to grab a quick lunch. Italian is always a favourite and the place certainly seemed popular. They don't take bookings but the tables and bar seat turn over pretty quickly so no-one seems to wait long at all.
Where to start - the perennial question. We chose an antipasto board - such a great dish to share and pick at! It was presented beautifully on a raised pizza stand and looked and tasted great.
Main courses were a combination of dishes that looked good and tasted the same. The choices ended up being ravioli with ricotta, baby spinach and sage burnt butter and a traditional margherita pizza made with tomato, fior di latte and fresh basil. the colour looked great and the flavours were rich and satisfying. We also had a tomato chunks, fresh basil and torn buffalo mozzarella.
Finally, even though we had decided against desserts, the venue kindly gave us a Nutella cronut which we shared. It was simply magnificent and we devoured it eagerly even though we were pretty full already.
Margherita & Co is a popular and welcome addition to the blossoming food scene in and around World Square in Sydney CBD. The food arrives quickly and is tasty and the service is friendly and efficient. The place has a nice airy bright feel to it too.
