Remember Arnold’s from Happy Days? Ok, maybe some of you don’t even remember the TV show Happy Days, but Arnold’s was the American 1950’s diner that the gang used to hang out in. Well Matt’s Diner is a walk down memory lane for anyone with some of this nostalgia.
The house specialties are burgers and hot dogs but we were here for brunch so we all steered towards their different bacon and egg rolls. The Double Bacon and Egg Roll has - well - double of everything. It has two eggs, twice the bacon, double cheese and BBQ sauce all in a fresh bun. It’s big, tasty and worth having for those with an appetite.
If you’re not quite up for a double, then the Bacon and Egg Roll may be the thing for you. It’s still filling and tasty but has just one egg and a single serve of bacon (which is decent sized anyway). A few in our group had this.
Brunch without coffee is - well - not on. We grabbed coffees all round and it turned out to be a nice brew that also arrived quickly.
It’s hard not to spend way to much time just looking around this place. there’s so much to see. The walls are filled with quirky memorabilia. Take a wander if you can.
Matt’s Diner is a quirky place that leaves a lasting memory. It’s so interesting looking around and the food is good too. It’s popular and it’s easy to see why.
