Hurricanes Express
1 Anderson St
Chatswood, Sydney
Walking in to Hurricanes in Chatswood you just know that you will get a great meal. There menu is extensive and the aroma’s wafting around the place are tantalising.
To start our meal with drinks. Sir had one of his non-alcoholic ‘go-to’s” - sugar free coke and Mlady had one of her faves - a lemon lime and bitters.
We started with a garlic roll to share. When this arrived, it smelled delish! The outside was lovely and crisp with an equally lovely fluffy garlic centre. This really was a good garlic bread which we both thoroughly enjoyed.
Both loving seafood there were no surprises that we just had to try the Salt and Pepper Calamari. Squeezing lemon over the tender calamari and then dipping into the dill mayo - yum!
Sir loves meat so he eyed the combo part on the menu. Steak and Rib combo was his choice with a side of sweet potato’s. This was an impressive substantial dish and the meat was so tender. It was cooked medium rare and the ribs had a tasty basting sauce that was scrumptious. The sweet potato chips had a nice outside crispness and a tasty inside and they accompanied this meal very well. Sir thoroughly enjoyed his dish.
Mlady loves a burger and went with a chicken one, the Southern fried chicken burger. There was so much flavour going on and it was held together with a soft damper bun. This was a great, tasty fresh burger which Mlady really enjoyed. She also had a serving of lovely chips.
We did fit in dessert and in fact shared two. One dessert was a brownie which came with a substantial serving of vanilla ice cream surrounded with strawberries. Such a work of art which tasted oh so good!
The second dessert we had to share, even though Mlady, being a chocoholic, wanted this all to herself. It was the mars bar cheesecake. This was another work of art and one of the best mars bar cheesecakes we have had. It really was Delicious with a capital ‘D’!
The food at Hurricanes is good - really good. The meals are fresh, with tasty combinations and you certainly won’t leave hungry. There so so much to choose from, so something for everyone.
